Where to start
Chosen from this company's lowest answers, easiest first. A quick fix uses material the company already has; a translation fix is usually met by translating a Japanese document (our note says whether this company has one). Questions that need a budget or a board decision are left out. Suggestions drawn from the research, separate from the scores.

F1Quarterly and full-year results summaries (tanshin) published in English3/5
Consolidated Results for the First Half of the fiscal year ending February 2027 (IFRS), 9 October 2026, the same day as the Japanese, and every quarter is in the English IR library. The English carries the summary, the operating-results review, the statements and the notes (going concern, segment information), but the Japanese qualitative section (2) on financial position and cash flows has no English counterpart, in this release and in the FY2/2026 one; the English cover calls each 'a summarized translation of the financial statements'. Two tests, take the lower: a section of the tanshin's own substance is cut, 3, as for IBIDEN, Mitsui Kinzoku and Japan Steel Works (was 5; re-checked 17 Oct 2026 from the F2 reading of 16 Oct, which compared the two page by page). F2English results summary is a full translation, not an excerpt3/5
We read the H1 FY2/2027 tanshin of 9 Oct 2026 against the Japanese. The English 'Consolidated Results for the First Half of the Fiscal Year Ending February 28, 2027' is 15 pages; the Japanese 第2四半期(中間期)決算短信 is 16. Both carry the summary pages, the forecast with its revision and FX assumptions (moved to p.2 in English), the operating-results review by region and segment, the condensed statements (financial position, income and comprehensive income, changes in equity, cash flows) and the notes (going concern, segment information). But the Japanese qualitative section (2) 財政状態の概況 (assets, liabilities and equity movements, and the cash-flow review by activity with free cash flow) has no English counterpart. The FY2/2026 tanshin (10 Apr 2026, 21 pp English against 20 Japanese) drops the same subsection, and the English cover calls each one 'a summarized translation of the financial statements'. Part of the qualitative review exists only in Japanese, so 3. Source document →
F3Financial statements including notes available in English5/5
The latest English tanshin (H1 FY2/2027, 9 Oct 2026) has the full condensed statements: balance sheet, income and comprehensive income, changes in equity for both periods, and cash flows. It also has the notes the Japanese carries: going concern and the segment note (overview of reportable segments, revenue, intersegment and operating profit by segment with the reconciliation of adjustments). The year-end English tanshin (10 Apr 2026) adds per-share information and subsequent events. Full statements and notes for the latest period, so 5. Source document →

The English IR materials are financial results, briefings, the YASKAWA Report and the investor's guide. No securities report in English under any name.
F5Segment revenue and profit disclosed in English, consistent definitions5/5
There are three reportable segments plus Other: Motion Control, Robotics and System Engineering. Every English tanshin (Q1 of 10 Jul 2026 p.11-13 and H1 of 9 Oct 2026 p.13-15) gives external and intersegment revenue and operating profit per segment, with the reconciliation. The note defines the segments by their products and states that segment profit is operating profit. The qualitative section adds a narrative per segment and business (H1: Motion Control revenue ¥137,286m, OP ¥15,973m; Robotics ¥118,404m and ¥5,974m). The deck gives segment forecasts. The 2024 reclassification of the PV inverter business is disclosed in the data file's notes. So 5. Source document →
F6Multi-year financial data file (Excel or CSV) downloadable in English5/5
The English Financial highlights and Consolidated financial statements pages embed the Euroland IR tool, and it offers 'Export all the data into an Excel'. We fetched that export from inside the rendered page: Data.xls (52 KB, a real Excel BIFF file) and read its contents. It covers FY2014 to FY2025 (twelve fiscal years, to the year ended February 2026). It has the profit statement (revenue, gross profit, SG&A, OP, PBT, net profit, ratios), financial position (total assets, equity, interest-bearing debt, ROA, ROE, D/E), the statement of cash flows (operating, investing, FCF, financing, cash at end), security indicators, per-share data (EPS basic and diluted, BPS, interim and year-end dividends, payout) and segment data. It also has revenue by location and capex, depreciation and R&D, with IFRS and J-GAAP series. A downloadable multi-year file with all four statement types plus segments, so 5. Source document →
F7Guidance disclosed in English with the basis explained5/5
The H1 English tanshin (9 Oct 2026, p.2) gives the revised FY2/2027 forecast: revenue ¥600.0bn, OP ¥57.5bn, PBT ¥65.5bn, net ¥47.5bn, EPS ¥183.11. It sets this against the 10 Apr forecast and FY2/2026 actuals, and explains the revision as a weaker yen lifting revenue, offset by the effect of the new ERP system on first-half production and shipments. It restates the second-half FX assumptions (USD 145 to 155, EUR 170 to 180, CNY 20.50 to 22.00, KRW 0.105 to 0.107). The English H1 deck adds segment revenue and OP forecasts against the previous forecast (p.18), an OP bridge by segment including FX effects (p.19) and second-half measures by segment (p.20). The tanshin also gives the regional market view. FX, segment forecasts and market view with the revision explained, so 5. Source document →

S1Medium-term management plan in English with numerical targets5/5
The current plan is Mid-term Business Plan 'Dash 35' (FY2026-FY2029), under the long-term 'Vision 2035'. The English deck (32 pp) and the Japanese (32 pp) were both released on 22 May 2026, both on the English and Japanese news lists and on TDnet at 16:00 the same day. Its targets: FY2027 revenue ¥600bn and OP ¥72bn (12.0%); FY2029 revenue ¥650bn and OP ¥100bn (15.4%). There are segment revenue and OP targets for FY2027 and FY2029 with FX assumptions, ROE 10%+ and ROIC 9%+ for FY2027, ROE 12%+ and ROIC 11%+ for FY2029, payout 40%+, and ¥250bn of cumulative investment (capex ¥130bn, strategic ¥120bn). S3English equity-story or investment-highlights page4/5
The English IR menu has an 'At a glance' section aimed at investors: 'Yaskawa's Strengths' (/ir/individual/strengths), 'Understanding YASKAWA with 5 Keywords', a corporate movie and links to the plan, financials and Investor's Guide. The strengths page is dedicated and specific: world-first technologies, ability to transform (mechatronics, i3-Mechatronics, Solution Factory), customers' trust, and global presence. It is mostly narrative. The only figures are a market-share chart (company estimate, FY2023: AC servo drive 18%, AC drive 5%, industrial robot 8%), and the 5 Keywords page still describes Vision 2025. Dedicated but mostly qualitative, so 4 (the floor; the share chart is the only quantification). Source document →
S4Growth drivers identified and quantified in English4/5
Dash 35 (English, May 2026) names the drivers. Its five policies are: develop the Physical AI market (MOTOMAN NEXT, humanoid-robot components), expand i3-Mechatronics, world-leading new products, new mechatronics applications (agriculture, food, medical) and YDX. The numbers attach at segment level: Motion Control revenue ¥280bn to ¥300bn and OP ¥42bn to ¥52bn, Robotics ¥240bn to ¥290bn, System Engineering ¥40bn, for FY2026-FY2029, plus ¥250bn of investment. The English IR Day 2026 Q&A adds the OP bridge to FY2029 (about ¥60bn from revenue growth, mid-teens ¥bn from added value, more than ¥20bn of extra expenses). It also gives semiconductor applications as slightly under 10% of Robotics revenue and expected US share gains of 'several percentage points'. The named policy drivers (Physical AI, new applications) carry no market size or contribution figure. Named, some quantified, so 4. Source document →
S5Results-briefing transcripts or Q&A published in English4/5
Both languages publish a results-briefing Q&A summary every quarter, and the English one arrives a day after the Japanese. From PDF creation dates: FY2025 3Q, JA 13 Jan 2026 and EN 14 Jan; FY2025, JA 15 Apr and EN 16 Apr; FY2026 1Q, JA 13 Jul and EN 14 Jul (EN 6 pp, 'Q&A for FY2026 1Q Results Briefing (Summary)'). The H1 FY2026 Japanese Q&A for the 13 Oct briefing (262Q_QA_JP_1.pdf, 6 pp, created 15 Oct) is on the Japanese page; the English page has no 2Q Q&A yet. The IR Day 2026 Q&A is in English (16 Jun 2026). Every period, but always behind the Japanese, so 4. Source document →

S7Progress against the previous plan, including misses, explained in English5/5
The English Dash 35 deck opens with 'Review of Realize 25 (Financials)' (p.4). It sets the previous plan's FY2025 targets against FY2022-FY2025 actuals: revenue ¥542.1bn vs ¥650.0bn target, OP ¥47.3bn vs ¥100.0bn, OPM 8.7% vs 15.0%+, ROE 7.7%, with segment revenue and OP. It states that consolidated performance 'fell short of the targets'. P.5 sets achievements against the challenges behind the shortfall: changes in the FA market, limited i3-Mechatronics deployment, share loss from an excessive focus on profit, product differentiation. The English YASKAWA Report 2026 (CFO section, p.38) explains the FY2025 variance: a sluggish first half on US tariff uncertainty, higher depreciation and wage costs, and OP 'fell significantly short of the 100 billion target'. It adds a segment look-back at Realize 25 (p.31). Target against actual with the variances explained, so 5. Source document →

G2Director biographies in English with tenure, expertise and independence5/5
All nine directors are covered in English. The Directors & executive officers page (as of 1 Sep 2026) gives every director a dated career summary (e.g. Ikuyama 'May 2023 Director and Member of the Audit and Supervisory Committee (to present)') and marks outside and TSE-independent directors. The YASKAWA Report 2026 (p.61) gives years served as a director and attendance for all nine (e.g. Ogasawara 19, Ikuyama 3, Hodaka 3). The 110th AGM notice profiles the six candidates with years served, attendance, career, reasons for nomination and independence analysis. Its skills matrix (p.15) covers the whole post-AGM board. Tenure, expertise and independence for every director, so 5. Source document →
G3Board skills matrix published in English5/5
The English notice of the 110th AGM (April 2026, p.15) has 'Composition of the Board of Directors and Areas of Expertise That the Company Expects Each Director to Bring', effective after the 27 May 2026 meeting. It maps all nine directors, including the Audit and Supervisory Committee members, by gender, age and independence against corporate management/business strategy, ESG/sustainability, finance/accounting, legal, sales/marketing, manufacturing, R&D/DX and global. The directors page links a 'Composition of the Board of Directors and Board Skills Matrix' page. Current, so 5. Source document →
G4Executive remuneration structure and its performance linkage explained in English4/5
The English corporate governance page, 'Directors' compensation' section, covers all three elements. The structure: basic, performance-linked and stock (BBT) compensation, with the 430m yen and 1.0%-of-net-income caps; outside directors and A&SC members get basic pay plus points only if the plan OP target is met. The KPIs: the bonus is set on operating profit rate, OP growth and ROA against industry peers. The Dash 35 stock award has a formula graphic with weights: OP achievement 40%, ROIC 20%, TSR vs TOPIX 20%, CO2 reduction 20% (financial 60%, non-financial 40%), with coefficient tables. The target pay mix for the President is about 30:55:15. The FY2025 amounts are given by category and type: inside directors (4) ¥448m = basic 188 + performance-linked 213 + stock 46; A&SC inside 31; outside directors (5) 65. Re-checked 21 Oct 2026 under v1.1.1, which needs the weight of each performance measure in every performance-linked element: the bonus uses operating profit rate, operating profit growth and ROA against peers with no weights (the stock award is weighted). So 4. Source document →
G5AGM notice in English with sufficient lead time to vote4/5
Notice of the 110th Annual General Meeting in English, posted in April 2026 (file dated 21 April) for a meeting on 27 May - more than four weeks - with the reference documents. The 'In Japanese only' label attaches to the materials-posting website; internet voting at soukai.mizuho-tb.co.jp carries no such label. Re-checked 23 Oct 2026 (G5 voting-site sweep, after the independent audit): the voting website named above, soukai.mizuho-tb.co.jp (Mizuho Trust & Banking), is in Japanese only, with no English option, as for ESPEC (6859) and Nitto Boseki (3110). Every proposal in English, but a Japanese-only voting route, so 4. Source document →
G6Shareholder vote results disclosed in English0/5
The English General shareholders meetings page carries notices only (103rd to 110th). No notice of resolutions and no voting results in English.
G7Cross-shareholdings in English with reduction schedule and rationale3/5
The English Corporate Governance Policy (May 2024) gives the holding policy, the annual board review of business potential, profitability and holding risk, the voting policy, and sale of holdings whose significance has diluted. The YASKAWA Report 2026 (p.38-39, 'Strategic shareholdings') gives the size: about 7% of net assets at FY2025. It says shares with weakened rationale continue to be sold and the number of stocks held 'has steadily declined'. But it states that 'we do not believe a significant near-term reduction is necessary', and there is no reduction target or schedule and no count of holdings. The English site has no CG report. Policy, an amount and narrative progress, but no target, so 3. Source document →

The decks are same-day by the listings: the English IR News lists 'Results Briefing for 1H' on 9 Oct and for 1Q on 10 Jul, the same day as the Japanese 業績概要. But the English deck files now carry later creation dates (H1 15 Oct 2026, Q1 and FY 1 Oct 2026), so they were re-saved after posting; the Japanese decks are dated results day. R3Timely disclosures published in English4/5
We compared TDnet (kabutan's list) and the Japanese news list for 15 Oct 2025 to 15 Oct 2026 with the English. Every TDnet item of R3's kind has a same-minute English version: Q3, FY, Q1 and H1 tanshin (the H1 one with the forecast revision); 'Changes in Representative Directors' (10 Apr 2026); the articles amendment (17 Apr); the AGM notice (24 Apr); and Vision 2035/Dash 35 (22 May). The English site also has the subsidiary acquisition of 26 Mar 2026 and the executive officer's death (5 Oct). The CG report (28 May) and the independent-officer notice have no English. Two Japanese company announcements of corporate actions have no English: the iCube Digital share transfer (25 Jun 2026) and the Astellas joint venture セラファ・バイオサイエンス (22 Oct 2025). The Kumamoto earthquake impact notice (31 Jul 2026) has none either. Nearly all, so 4. Source document →

Cash use and returns
Dash 35 plans ¥250bn of cumulative investment through FY2029: ¥130bn capex and ¥120bn strategic investment.
Capital structure
FY2025 cash was ¥61.2bn and the equity ratio 59.5%; the plan includes payout targets but no selected-source net-debt range.
Governance of capital decisions
Dash 35 sets FY2027 ROE of 12% and ROIC of 11%, then FY2029 thresholds of at least 10% and 9%.

Surplus cash, leases, maturities, project ROIC, cost of capital, committed spend and peer comparability are not fully assessed; none enters the accountability score.
