Where to start

Chosen from this company's lowest answers, easiest first. A quick fix uses material the company already has; a translation fix is usually met by translating a Japanese document (our note says whether this company has one). Questions that need a budget or a board decision are left out. Suggestions drawn from the research, separate from the scores.

F1Quarterly and full-year results summaries (tanshin) published in English5/5

Consolidated Financial Results for the Three Months Ended June 30, 2026 (IFRS), dated 7 August 2026 - the same day as the Japanese tanshin - and 15 pages against the Japanese 15, with the segment note (three regional segments, revenue and segment profit) intact. An English edition for every quarter back to 2017 on the IR page. Source document →

F2English results summary is a full translation, not an excerpt5/5

Q1 FY3/2027 tanshin, 7 Aug 2026: the English 'Consolidated Financial Results for the Three Months Ended June 30, 2026 (IFRS)' is 15 pages, the same as the Japanese 2027年3月期 第1四半期決算短信 (15). Both have the same sections: the summary pages; 1. Overview of Operating Results (results, a narrative for each of the three segments, financial position, cash flows and the forecast explanation); 2. the condensed statements (financial position, income, comprehensive income, changes in equity, cash flows); and 3. the notes (going concern, material accounting policies, segment information with general information, revenue and segment profit, and a reconciliation to profit before tax). The FY3/2026 year-end tanshin (14 May 2026) is 22 English pages against 19 Japanese, and adds Management Policies and the segment-change note. The whole tanshin, so 5. Source document →

F3Financial statements including notes available in English5/5

The latest-period English tanshin (Q1 FY3/2027, 7 Aug 2026) has the full condensed statements: financial position, income, comprehensive income, changes in equity for both periods, and cash flows. It also has the notes: going concern, material accounting policies (including the estimated annual effective tax rate) and the segment note with its reconciliation. The year-end English tanshin (14 May 2026) has the same plus the change in reporting segments. Full statements and notes for the latest period, so 5. Source document →

F4Annual securities report available in English in any form0/5

The English IR site is a single page - IR news, financial results, business result summaries, AGM notices, integrated report, ESG data - and carries no securities report under any name. The Japanese library has the 68th-term yuho and half-year report; neither has an English counterpart.

F5Segment revenue and profit disclosed in English, consistent definitions5/5

There are three regional segments: Japan, Americas, and Asia and Others. Every English tanshin gives revenue (external and intersegment) and segment profit for each segment, with a reconciliation to operating profit and profit before tax. Examples: Q1 FY3/2027 Japan ¥29,792m and ¥3,235m, Americas ¥22,424m and ¥1,492m. The note defines the segments and segment profit, which excludes PPA amortisation and M&A expenses. It also explains the FY3/2026 change from four business segments to three regional ones, with prior-year comparatives restated (Q2 and Q3 FY3/2026 tanshin). The FY deck adds five-year segment tables on both the new and old definitions, plus Japan revenue by business line, with FY3/2027 forecasts. Every period, definitions stated, so 5. Source document →

F6Multi-year financial data file (Excel or CSV) downloadable in English0/5

There is no downloadable data file. The English IR page's link list (Financial Result, Business Result Summary, AGM, Integrated Report, ESG Data, CSR archives) is all PDFs; no .xls, .xlsx or .csv. Instead there are the multi-year tables in the FY deck appendix (five-year cash flow, capex, segment tables) and the ESG Data PDF (3 pp, FY2021-FY2025). The Japanese 連結業績ハイライト page is an HTML table with no Excel either.

F7Guidance disclosed in English with the basis explained5/5

The forecast and its basis are both in English. The year-end tanshin (14 May 2026) gives the FY3/2027 full-year forecast: revenue ¥284.5bn, OP ¥32.6bn, PBT ¥38.6bn, net ¥28.5bn, EPS ¥246.30, dividend ¥74. The first half is omitted because performance is managed annually, and the tanshin says so. Its '(4) Forecasts' section gives the market view: rising labour, energy, material and logistics costs, stable domestic capex demand, varied overseas conditions, and Middle East effects excluded as too uncertain. The FY deck (27 May, English posted 5 Jun) gives the FX assumptions for ten currencies (USD 155, EUR 180 and so on, against the MTP rates). It also gives the FY3/2027 forecast by segment (revenue and segment profit), by business line in Japan and by region. The Q1 tanshin (7 Aug 2026) explains why the forecast is unchanged. Earlier, the FY3/2025 deck set FY guidance against actual with explanations. All three assumption types and the forecast status explained, so 5. Source document →

S1Medium-term management plan in English with numerical targets4/5

The current plan is the 'Medium-Term Management Plan Updated for FY2026-2028', a fixed three-year plan. It is set out in the English FY3/2025 results deck (34 pp, the same as the Japanese 34). The targets for FY2028: revenue ¥300.0bn (Japan ¥147.0bn, outside Japan ¥153.0bn), OP ¥36.5bn, OPM 12.2%, OP before amortisation ¥40.9bn, ROE 13.0% or higher. There are interim-year figures and targets by business line in Japan. The English Integrated Report 2025 (pp. 23-26) repeats them, and the FY3/2026 deck (p.9) reviews progress. The English is complete but late: the Japanese deck went up on 26 May 2025 and the English on 6 Jun 2025 (IR news; PDF created 6 Jun). The FY3/2026 update came out 26 May against 5 Jun 2026. The English deck for every briefing the company holds - full year (briefing 27 May 2026, posted 5 June, 46 pages against the Japanese 46) and half year (26 November 2025, posted 16 December) - but nothing for the Japanese side's quarterly 参考資料 supplementary materials published with every Q1 and Q3 tanshin, and a Q&A summary only for the FY2025 briefing in May 2025. The briefing videos are Japanese-only, which is a medium and does not cost a point. Source document →

S3English equity-story or investment-highlights page5/5

The English IR site has no 'why invest' or investment-highlights page. The English Integrated Report 2025 opens with 'MIURA Group by the Numbers', an at-a-glance spread with figures. It shows the top position in Japan in several markets (vacuum food coolers, industrial laundry, installed auxiliary marine boilers and others), 32 group companies, 7,729 employees, OPM 10.1%, ROE 12.1% and the revenue and profit mix by business. The spread also gives a 59.8% share of the Japanese once-through boiler market (p.2). Each business section also has a qualitative 'Strengths' box. Re-checked 21 Oct 2026 under the rule as written: a section in an investor document counts the same as a page, and a named market rank counts as a quantified strength. A dedicated section with quantified strengths, so 5. Source document →

S4Growth drivers identified and quantified in English5/5

The drivers are named and numbers are attached. The English FY3/2025 deck (MTP for FY2026-2028) gives Japan revenue targets by business line, with the CAGR to FY2028: water treatment +12.5%, ship machinery +6.6%, food/medical +4.6%, boilers +2.6%. A bridge shows each driver's contribution from ¥128.9bn to ¥147.0bn+α: Total Solutions and water treatment +10.7, plant-wide maintenance +4.6, ship machinery to Chinese shipbuilders +2.8, M&A and factory robotics +α. The FY3/2026 deck quantifies Cleaver-Brooks: orders by line (CY2025, vs guidance), the US$ budget-to-actual bridge, and a touchpoint KPI moving from over 20% to at least 50% against approx. 19,000 units and 7,000 customers in the market. It also gives FY3/2027 forecasts by region. So 5. Source document →

The Japanese side has published one Q&A summary, the 決算説明会 質疑応答要旨 for the FY3/2025 briefing (27 May 2025, 5 pp, PDF created 6 Jun 2025). It has no transcript for any other briefing, only decks, quarterly 参考資料 and videos. The English Business Result Summary has the matching 'Summary of Q&A Session at Earnings Briefing' for that briefing (5 pp, dated May 27, 2025). Its PDF was created 30 Jun 2025, about three weeks after the Japanese. Every Japanese Q&A has an English counterpart, but late, so 4 under the review ruling. Source document →

S7Progress against the previous plan, including misses, explained in English4/5

Until FY3/2025 the company ran a rolling MTP that was revised every year, so there is no fixed earlier plan to reconcile. The English FY3/2025 deck (p.5) sets the final-year FY2025 guidance against actuals with the differences: revenue 247.5 vs 251.3 (+3.8), OP 25.0 vs 25.3, OPM, PBT, net, EPS ¥193 vs ¥206, dividend ¥55 vs ¥61. Business commentary explains them. The FY3/2026 deck (p.9) reviews the first year of the current plan against its targets with progress rates (revenue 35.7%, OP 50.0% of the planned increase), and p.7 gives FY2026 segment guidance against actuals. No English page reconciles the previous plan's multi-year targets as a set, and the Japanese Feb 2025 notice revising that plan (通期連結業績予想及び中期経営計画の修正) has no English version on the site. A target-versus-actual for the plan year with explanations, but not the whole previous plan, so 4. Source document →

G2Director biographies in English with tenure, expertise and independence4/5

The English notice of the 68th AGM (Jun 2026) profiles all five candidates for director who are not Audit and Supervisory Committee members: Miyauchi, Yoneda, Hiroi, Kawamoto and Muto. Each has a dated career history (e.g. 'Jun. 2010 Director'), attendance, shares held and reasons for nomination. Muto's outside-director tenure (one year) and his independence analysis are stated. The board composition table marks independence for all nine directors. The four Audit and Supervisory Committee members (Yamauchi, Ando, Koike, Shoriki) were not up for election. Their profiles are in the 67th notice (2025) and in the Integrated Report 2025's director table (roles, careers, independence, attendance). There is no English governance page that gathers the current board. All three elements are there, but tenure is only implicit in dates and the full profiles cover this year's candidates only, so 4. The KPIs: consolidated revenue, operating profit and ROE against targets, plus division performance and individual qualitative targets. The FY2024 actuals against target are given (revenue ¥159,695m vs ¥151,500m; OP ¥23,061m vs ¥22,100m; ROE 11.1% vs 10.0%). The amounts are a table by director type: ¥461m in total, ¥266m fixed, ¥147m performance-linked, ¥47m stock. The KPI weights and the pay-mix ratios are not given in English. The 'translated from a part' caveat is disregarded per the anchors. Re-checked 23 Oct 2026 (G5 voting-site sweep, after the independent audit): the voting website named in the English notice, www.web54.net (Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank), is in Japanese only, with no English option, as for ESPEC (6859) and Nitto Boseki (3110). The board reviews them each year against the business relationship, annual turnover, latent gain or loss, dividend and capital cost. MIURA treats ROE and ROIC as core measures and states that underperforming assets should be reviewed.

Preliminary and not scored: a selected-source reading, reviewed 28 September 2026. Surplus cash, leases, maturities, project ROIC, cost of capital, committed spend and peer comparability are not fully assessed; none enters the accountability score. Figures are the company’s own reported numbers; a large cash balance is not called excess without a defensible operating reserve and investment plan. Every company with a balance-sheet reading →
